Responsibilities
Responsibilities
Risk assessment is a shared responsibility. Both organisations and individuals play important roles in managing risk and maintaining safe environments.
Organisations
Organisations are responsible for carrying out suitable risk assessments, implementing control measures, and providing information, instruction, and training. They must also review assessments regularly and make improvements when necessary.
Individuals
Individuals are responsible for following control measures, working safely, and reporting hazards or concerns. Taking personal responsibility supports effective risk management and helps protect everyone involved.
positive approach
A positive approach to risk assessment encourages awareness, communication, and continuous improvement. When people understand risks and feel empowered to act, accidents and ill health are less likely to occur.
This course has explained what risk assessment is, why it is important, how hazards and risks are identified, and how control measures reduce harm. Applying these principles helps create safer workplaces and learning environments.
